Biography

Daniel (Dan) Mahoney advises businesses and corporate boards in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, securities, private equity, venture capital, and corporate law. Dan’s clients operate in a variety of industries such as biotechnology and life science, software, Internet, technology, telecommunications, manufacturing, and transportation. He regularly represents clients ranging from emerging growth companies, including those seeking venture capital to large publicly held corporations.

Dan is co-chair of Snell & Wilmer’s Emerging Growth and Venture Capital Industry Group and is a frequent writer on issues related to venture capital, licensing, securities, and corporate law. He also extensively writes about issues facing both entrepreneurs and large corporations. Prior to practicing law, Dan was a management and systems design consultant with Accenture.

Dan is recognized by his peers from a number of national publications including Best Lawyers in America®, Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business®, and Southwest Super Lawyers®. In 2016, he was selected as a Top 50 Lawyer in Arizona by Best Lawyers in America® and in 2013, named Lawyer of the Year in venture capital law by Southwest Super Lawyers®.

Within the Phoenix community, Dan is a member of the Thunderbirds Charities who are widely known as the organizers and hosts of the annual Waste Management (WM) Phoenix Open. Dan served as president of the organization from 2016-2017 as well as the tournament chairman for the 2016 WM Phoenix Open.
