The Product Liability Desk Reference is one of the most useful and comprehensive books available on product liability law.  It is a state-by-state reference that provides the most recent statutory and case law developments on product liability laws.  It covers all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia.

Kelly MacHenry, Sara Athen and Patrick Fowler are the co-authors and editors of the Arizona chapter.  They recently completed the chapter’s 2014 edition, which will be published soon.  Snell & Wilmer’s product liability attorneys have written the Arizona chapter for 22 years, since the book’s first publication in 1991.  Both in-house counsel and outside counsel find the book efficient and helpful.

In recent editions, the Arizona chapter authors have added comments and cases about the admissibility standard for expert evidence, the “state of the art” statutory defense, indemnification, spoliation of evidence and disclaimers of warranty.  The Product Liability Desk Reference has detailed coverage of each state’s standards regarding:

  • Causes of action
  • Statutes of limitation and repose
  • Strict liability
  • Negligence
  • Breach of warranty
  • Punitive damages
  • Pre- and post-judgment interest
