Snell & Wilmer Represents Lucid Motors in 1,400 Acre Expansion Deal

PHOENIX – Snell & Wilmer represented Lucid Group, Inc. (Lucid Motors), a Newark, California-based company as sole outside counsel in its acquisition, development and lease agreements with various third-party owners, Pinal County and the City of Casa Grande for an additional 1,400 acres. The new agreements will allow Lucid to expand its production facility located in Casa Grande, Arizona, bringing Lucid’s production site to about 2,000 acres overall and could allow the company to hire more than 6,000 people at full buildout as recently reported.

“As we seek to expand our product offerings globally, we must continue to grow here in Arizona, and we frankly require additional space to do so. It’s worth emphasizing we see this investment as securing the county’s future as a national leader in vehicle electrification. As we expand, so too do the opportunities for a significant supplier network as well as our own operations to grow with us,” said Daniel Witt, Lucid’s head of state and local public policy, at the Pinal County Board of Supervisor meeting where the lease was approved as reported in a recent article. Lucid Group Inc. is an automotive company focused on designing, developing, manufacturing and selling electric vehicles (EV), EV powertrains and battery systems in-house using its own equipment and factory.

Brett and Snell & Wilmer also represented Lucid Motors in connection with the initial acquisition of its AMP1 facility in Casa Grande in 2018.
