Jan 15, 2025

ORANGE COUNTY – Snell & Wilmer represented the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Anaheim-Cypress in its recent merger with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Orange Coast. This merger allows the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Anaheim-Cypress to amplify their mission, expand their impact, and serve even more youth and families across seven Orange County communities, which will now collectively include the cities of Anaheim, Costa Mesa, Cypress, Irvine, Newport Beach, Orange, and Santa Ana. This is the third engagement by Snell & Wilmer in representing nonprofits which have merged with Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Orange Coast.

For more than 160 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of America has provided a safe place for kids and teens to learn and grow. Clubs offer caring adult mentors, fun and friendship, and high-impact youth development programs daily during critical non-school hours. Boys & Girls Clubs programming promotes academic success, good character and leadership, and healthy lifestyles. Over 5,400 Clubs serve more than 3 million young people through Club membership and community outreach.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Orange Coast has provided a positive, healthy learning environment for children since 1941. With each year that passes, the Club curriculum takes progressively longer strides toward strengthening the academic aptitude, physical fitness, health awareness, and career ambitions of its members, preparing them to graduate high school with a plan for their futures. With more than 200,000 youth under the age of 18 within the Central Orange Coast region, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Orange Coast is called to do everything they can to help as many as possible reach greatness.

“This expansion of our footprint to serve the families of Anaheim and Cypress is part of our commitment to ensure that every child, no matter their background, has the resources, and more importantly, the mentors that they need in their life to unlock their greatest potential,” said Robert Santana, Chief Executive Officer of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Orange Coast. “Through this merger, we will grow our collective impact by continuing to innovate the club experience for our young people, expand our family strengthening strategy to better serve our community, we will grow our footprint in our partnership network, and we will double down on our commitment to serve teens through our college bound and workforce development programs.”

“I see a bright future ahead for these two organizations,” added Marcelo Brutti, Board President of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Orange Coast. “We’re growing from serving five communities and two communities to now serving seven communities together. This is an investment in our next generation of leaders.”
