In-House Tool Kit

September 20, 2018

A common observation from in-house attorneys is that, unlike those in private practice, in-house attorneys lack the luxury of being able to focus on a specific area of law. Rather, they are often expected to understand and provide legal advice on a myriad of complex topics that differ from their ordinary practice.

This program, requested by in-house attorneys, provides regular practice updates on a number of niche areas and is presented from the perspective of both an in-house attorney and a Snell & Wilmer attorney working in the featured practice area(s). From the nuts and bolts of patents, to a succinct overview of new tax laws, to responding to the inevitable employment dispute, we will provide additional tools needed to successfully operate in a demanding in-house role. These one-hour breakfast sessions, hosted by Chris Colyer, are complimentary to attend and qualify for CLE credit.

Please join us for the first program in this series: Managing and Protecting Intellectual Property. During this program, you will hear from Snell & Wilmer attorneys Chris Colyer, Simone Raess and Will Van Curen, along with Marc Hennessee, General Counsel of BASELAYER. Topics include:

  • Overview of the nuts and bolts of intellectual property
  • How to build market value using intellectual property
  • Best practices and strategies from an in-house perspective
