Feb 13, 2024

SAN DIEGO (February 13, 2024) – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that San Diego Associate Sarah Hibbard has been appointed to serve on the board of directors for Connect San Diego. Connect San Diego is a community nonprofit passionate about entrepreneurs, innovation, and improving the economy. They are one of the nation’s first startup accelerators, founded in 1985 by the University of California San Diego, and serve entrepreneurs and startups from early stage throughout their growth journey, with a suite of curated programs and events aimed to help companies grow, gain access to capital, and scale.

“I have always been impressed by Connect San Diego’s dedication to transforming San Diego into a world-class innovation economy, while elevating and supporting entrepreneurs and startups in the region. As a San Diego native, I am honored to be a part of this mission and am excited to join Connect San Diego’s board of directors and support the entrepreneurship ecosystem in San Diego,” said Hibbard.

Hibbard’s focus includes general corporate governance, private debt and equity financings, and mergers and acquisitions, as well as structuring and negotiating intellectual property and commercial transactions such as licensing and tech transfers, collaborations, pre-clinical and clinical research, research and development activities, and manufacturing. She helps technology, life sciences, and digital health companies create a strong legal foundation and position themselves for growth on the journey from research to commercial success, drawing on in-house start-up and multibillion-dollar company experience. Hibbard also helps boards and C-suites balance corporate governance and risk, steward and deploy capital, and carefully navigate the interplay between stock performance, legal compliance, litigation, and operational continuity. In addition, she advises companies in dealings with government agencies, legislators, and other stakeholders. Hibbard received her J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law and her B.S. from San Diego State University.
