Snell & Wilmer Attorney Megan Carrasco Appointed Chair of the State Bar of Arizona’s Council on Minorities and Women in the Law
PHOENIX – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Phoenix attorney Megan Carrasco was appointed Chair of the State Bar of Arizona’s Council on Minorities and Women in the Law (CMWL) for the 2024-2025 year.
The State Bar of Arizona’s Council on Minorities and Women in the Law is dedicated to educating the legal community and general public on issues relating to minorities and women in the practice of law; supporting and serving minority and women practicing attorneys and students, by advocating the retention and advancement of minority and women lawyers; and developing strategies to broaden the legal opportunities for minority and women attorneys. The Council encourages and facilitates the active and effective participation of women and minorities in the legal profession and promotes the professional development of minority and women attorneys.
‘’I am ecstatic to lead the Council this year. My focus is emphasizing small, but concrete areas where we can make an impact. This means expanding the number of subcommittees and ensuring we liaison with other organizations in the community who are also doing this meaningful work,” said Carrasco.
Carrasco is an experienced litigator, helping protect innovations and resolve complex disputes in business, construction, and intellectual property. Her practice focuses on commercial litigation, construction disputes, intellectual property, and patent litigation, as well as investigations, government enforcement, and white-collar defense. From initial pleadings to motion practice and trial or arbitration, Carrasco is highly skilled in every phase of litigation. She regularly helps clients navigate complex commercial disputes, including contract disputes and business torts. Carrasco also represents owners (including homeowners), contractors, and subcontractors in a wide array of construction-related disputes, such as defective workmanship, wrongful termination, change orders, mechanic’s liens, and breach of contract claims. In addition to her commercial and construction work, Carrasco conducts internal investigations and represents companies and individuals facing federal and state criminal, civil, and regulatory enforcement actions. She also maintains an active intellectual property litigation practice, assisting clients in protecting their innovations in competitive markets.
Carrasco is actively involved in several legal organizations, including the Committee on Access to Justice, the Arizona Women Lawyer’s Association, and the Federal Bar Association. She regularly authors publications and presentations, including as a contributor to the American Bar Association’s Business Law Today and through client alerts that highlight trending legal issues.
