Snell & Wilmer Counsel Gil Kahn Elected Secretary of the State Bar of Nevada’s Appellate Litigation Section
LAS VEGAS – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that counsel attorney Gil Kahn has been elected Secretary of the State Bar of Nevada’s Appellate Litigation Section by fellow section members.
The Appellate Litigation Section is dedicated to enhancing the role and skills of attorneys engaged in appellate litigation through the study, collection, development and dissemination of materials on subjects of interest to appellate litigation practitioners. The section also supports educational programs and activities for members of the State Bar of Nevada, promotes discussion regarding improvements to the law and practice of appellate litigation, and addresses matters related to the section’s purpose as referred by the State Bar of Nevada Board of Governors.
As Secretary, Kahn will serve in a leadership role within the section and assist with advancing its educational and professional objectives for attorneys practicing in the field of appellate litigation.
Kahn is a member of Snell & Wilmer’s Litigation, Investigations, and Trials and Appellate Practice Groups. In addition, Kahn serves on the Steering Committee of the Nevada Jewish Bar Association and helped launch the organization, which brings together members of Nevada’s legal community to foster professional connections and community engagement. He recently completed his three-year term as a Lawyer Representative for the United States District Court, District of Nevada and is a member of the Court’s Civil Rules Committee.
Prior to joining Snell & Wilmer, Kahn served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada for The Honorable Jennifer A. Dorsey and The Honorable Larry R. Hicks. He also served as a Judicial Law Clerk in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit for The Honorable Jay S. Bybee. In his appellate practice, Kahn has represented clients in complex appeals before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and multiple state appellate courts.
In his litigation practice, Kahn assists clients in a variety of areas, ranging from defamation and anti-SLAPP, to constitutional claims, and debt collection, including the recovery of collateral through repossession. Kahn also greatly values pro bono work and is particularly passionate about representing asylum seekers.
