Snell & Wilmer Named Among 2024 Companies That Care by the Orange County Business Journal
ORANGE COUNTY – Snell & Wilmer is proud to announce that its Orange County office has been named an honoree of the Orange County Business Journal’s Companies That Care 2024 awards. According to the publication, this award recognizes companies that drive meaningful social change through volunteerism, charitable giving, and innovative programs.
Community service, pro bono work, and philanthropy are central to Snell & Wilmer’s mission. Through initiatives such as its Charitable Foundation, which has donated over $5 million to enhance early education, and its robust pro bono program supporting underserved communities, the firm demonstrates a deep commitment to giving back. Attorneys and staff in the Orange County office actively participate in leadership roles, volunteerism, and community programs, including the following:
- Adopt a Troop – In 2023, the firm’s offices, including Orange County, joined to support over 225 Marines in the Marine Corps Embassy Security Group Region 6 Eastern and Southern Africa through the donation of care packages, including wish list items sent directly to deployed individuals.
- Laura’s House Volunteer Event – In April 2024, members of the firm’s Orange County Community Involvement Committee, along with others from the office, friends, and family spent a Saturday morning volunteering at Laura’s House in Aliso Viejo. Volunteers received a tour of the facility and spent hours helping to sort donations in the warehouse for the nonprofit’s fundraising stores.
- Mariposa Women & Family Center – In June 2024, Snell & Wilmer’s Orange County office participated in an initiative to support Mariposa Women & Family Center by assembling backpacks with school supplies. The initiative was led by Orange County associates Sarah Nakamoto, who served on the nonprofit’s board of directors from 2019-2023, and Vivienne Chen. Mariposa Women & Family Center provides mental health, substance abuse, and domestic violence counseling in addition to life skills and supportive services for low-income individuals and families.
