Snell & Wilmer Partner Jeff Porter Joins Board of Directors for UMOM New Day Centers
PHOENIX – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Partner Jeff Porter has joined the Board of Directors for UMOM New Day Centers.
As Arizona’s largest provider of shelter and services for families and single women experiencing homelessness, UMOM New Day Centers exists to end family homelessness by restoring hope and rebuilding lives. Founded in 1964, UMOM is a community provider of emergency shelter, job training, and affordable housing in the Phoenix metro area.
Porter’s involvement with UMOM began with leading Snell & Wilmer’s participation in Arizona State University’s Homeless Legal Assistance Project in support of UMOM Day Centers from 2013 to 2016, and he has focused his personal charitable efforts on UMOM ever since.
In addition to serving UMOM, Porter has also been a member of Executive Council 70 since 2018. Executive Council 70 is a group of professional men supporting the activities of Executive Council Charities, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting youth in Arizona that has raised more than $12 million in the past five years.
In his legal practice, Porter focuses on real estate and commercial finance. He represents banks and other lenders in connection with the origination of construction, bridge, permanent, and mezzanine loans. Porter’s real estate finance experience includes hotels, office and industrial properties, retail projects, multi-family projects, condominium and townhome projects, land acquisition and development, and single-family home construction, and his commercial finance experience includes acquisition financing and asset-based loans for companies in the agricultural, aviation, aerospace, furniture, packaging, mining, semi-conductor production, and healthcare industries.
