Snell & Wilmer Partner John Delikanakis Elected President of the Board of Trustees of the Columbia County Historical Society of New York
LAS VEGAS – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that John S. Delikanakis was elected as President of the Board of Trustees of the Columbia County Historical Society of New York.
The Columbia County Historical Society (CCHS) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the interpretation and preservation of the history and culture of Columbia County, New York.
It is the goal of CCHS to encourage understanding, knowledge, and preservation of the County's heritage through the acquisition and conservation of historic architecture and properties, objects and documents, and through the sponsorship of research, publications, exhibitions, and educational programs. To help achieve its mission, the CCHS owns, maintains, and interprets collections and buildings of historical significance, and operates a museum and extensive research library.
In 2020, Delikanakis was named a Trustee of the Columbia County Historical Society of New York and was named Vice President in 2022. He is a former Advisory Board Member of The Justice Michael L. Douglas PreLaw Fellowship Program. Delikanakis has also served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada, and as an Executive Committee and Advisory Board Member for The Salvation Army, Las Vegas.
Delikanakis is a partner with Snell & Wilmer’s commercial litigation group in Las Vegas, Nevada. A former associate general counsel for a Fortune 500 company, his experience ranges from counseling senior management on day-to-day operational issues to litigating both simple and complex cases at the district court and appellate levels. His recent practice is concentrated on real estate disputes, timeshare industry issues, business dissolutions, contracts for the sale of goods, and commercial guaranty matters in the district and appellate courts, as well as alternate dispute tribunals. Delikanakis also counsels clients on e-discovery and data retention issues. Historically, his experience includes representing companies in class action, shareholder derivative litigation and defending manufacturers in multi-district products liability cases. Delikanakis has been recognized for commercial litigation for numerous years, by The Best Lawyers in America®. He also serves on Snell & Wilmer’s E-Discovery Committee and Litigation Training Committee. He received his LLM from King’s College in London, J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law and his A.B. from Vassar College.
