Snell & Wilmer Partners Steffi Hafen and Bardia Moayedi Recognized by San Diego Business Journal as 2024 Leaders of Influence in Law

SAN DIEGO – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that partners Steffi Hafen and Bardia Moayedi have been recognized as “Leaders of Influence in Law” by the San Diego Business Journal. This annual award celebrates and honors the contributions and commitments of the outstanding legal professionals in the San Diego community.

Hafen is the managing partner of the firm’s San Diego office, and is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law by the California Board of Legal Specialization. She is a co-leader of the firm’s Private Client Services practice group and a partner in the General Federal Tax practice group. Her practice is concentrated in tax, trust, and estate law. Hafen employs advanced estate planning techniques, including grantor retained annuity trusts, family partnerships, limited liability companies, charitable remainder trusts, defective grantor trusts, insurance planning, public charities, and private foundations. She also advises clients regarding succession planning for closely held businesses. Hafen serves on the Board of Junior Achievement of San Diego County and the Board of the San Diego County Regional Economic Development Corporation (EDC). She is a member of the Lawyers’ Club; the Association for Corporate Growth; and the San Diego and the North County Estate Planning Council. Hafen received her L.L.M in Taxation from Loyola Law School, her J.D. from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law, and her B.A. from University of California, Santa Barbara.

Moayedi is a corporate and securities partner, chair of the firm’s Technology Industry Group and co-chair of the firm’s Life Sciences Industry Group. He primarily advises emerging growth and public companies throughout their life cycles as well as venture capital and private equity firms, particularly in the life sciences, high-technology, financial technology, food and beverage, and clean-technology industries. Moayedi has significant experience representing companies and financial firms in a broad range of general corporate governance and transactional matters. He is a trusted advisor, often serving as the go-to outside counsel or lead counsel to his clients. Moayedi has served for many years on the Board of Advisors for San Diego State University’s ZIP Incubator, which supports and fosters entrepreneurship and small businesses in San Diego. He is a trusted Advisor to the University of California, Irvine’s Cove @ Beall Applied Innovation Incubator and the University of California, Hastings College of Law’s Start-Up Legal Garage. Moayedi received his J.D. from University of San Diego School of Law and his B.A. from University of California, Los Angeles.
