Snell & Wilmer Phoenix Partner Joseph Kanefield Has Been Appointed to Serve Another Term on the Arizona Commission on Access to Justice

PHOENIX – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Phoenix Partner Joseph Kanefield, has been appointed by Chief Justice Ann Scott Timmer to serve another term on the Arizona Commission on Access to Justice.

Established on August 20, 2014, by Administrative Order No. 2014-83, the Arizona Commission on Access to Justice is dedicated to studying and making recommendations on innovative ways of promoting access to justice for individuals who cannot afford legal counsel or who choose to represent themselves in civil cases. The Commission’s purpose is to advocate for pro bono services or financial support for civil legal aid, be provided by lawyers and law firms for those who cannot afford counsel. The Commission also strives to assist self-represented litigants and revising court rules and practices to facilitate access and the efficient processing of family court and eviction cases, as well as developing an information campaign to inform lawyers and other citizens about the state tax credit for contributions to agencies that serve the working poor, including legal services agencies in Arizona.

Kanefield has assisted clients for nearly 30 years with legal issues affecting state and local government as a skilled litigator and appellate counsel. Kanefield has been serving on the Arizona Commission on Access to Justice since 2021.
