Snell & Wilmer Celebrates 35 Years of Excellence in Tucson

05/28/2024

Tucson, AZ – Snell & Wilmer LLP is proud to announce the 35th anniversary of its Tucson office. Established in 1989, Snell & Wilmer’s Tucson office remains the largest full-service law firm in the Tucson metropolitan area and the Southern Arizona region to date, providing a variety of full-service transactional and litigation services for businesses and individuals.

The 35th anniversary was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting event with the Tucson Chamber earlier this month where the firm received a proclamation from Chamber CEO Michael Guymon. The office also celebrated with a special event for attorneys, alumni, and clients in the region.

“It is humbling to be celebrating 35 years in the Tucson community. We are incredibly proud of the culture that we have created in our Tucson office, one in which we celebrate superior service to our clients, alongside service to each other and our community,” said Joseph A. Kroeger, Tucson managing partner. “We are particularly proud of our service to the Tucson community, and pledge to continue that service for the next 35 years and beyond.”

The Tucson office has a partnership that is 75% female and has a total headcount of 22 attorneys that offer a diverse range of service across practice areas. Furthermore, Snell & Wilmer’s Tucson attorneys are very active within the Pima County, Arizona, American, and Federal Bar Associations, and hold numerous board and leadership positions in civic, educational, and industry organizations.

“The Tucson office is a shining example of the value of building and nurturing long-term client relationships and remaining committed to investing in our attorneys and staff. I’m incredibly proud of the Tucson office and look forward to its continued prominence in Southern Arizona,” said Barbara Dawson, Snell & Wilmer Firm Chair.

In reflecting on his decades-long legal career in Tucson, John A. Robertson, of counsel in the Tucson office, shares, “I consider myself very fortunate because very few lawyers have had the opportunity to spend 50 years working in the same place. Tucson has been a wonderful place for my family to live and Snell & Wilmer has been a great place for me to work. I am very grateful for the opportunities I have had in this region and the way my career has evolved after coming to Tucson in 1964.”

“As the first attorney hired in the Tucson office, I am honored to have been a part of and witnessed the growth of both the City of Tucson and our office over that period. Snell & Wilmer’s credo of commitment to our clients, our community, and each other continues to be lived out by our attorneys and staff in Tucson,” said Curt D. Reimann, the Tucson office’s first managing partner.

In late 2023, the Tucson office was recognized as the 2023 #1 Top Workplace in the small employer category by Tucson Media Partners Top Workplaces. This award is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey and is a testament to the office’s commitment to maintaining an empowering, inclusive and compassionate workplace.

“Snell & Wilmer’s Tucson office is a very special place, with a close-knit culture and people who are supportive of each other’s personal and professional endeavors,” said Tucson partner Roxanne Veliz. “There are many reasons why I have chosen Snell & Wilmer as the place where I started my career as an attorney and where I continue to cultivate my practice. I am proud to be a partner in this office and to support the next generation of women and diverse attorneys.”

The firm remains steadfast in its commitment to giving back to and improving the community through pro bono and volunteer work. Last year, the Tucson office supported the Autism Society of Southern Arizona’s All in for Autism Day in April and participated in the Community Food Bank’s Hunger Walk in September. Over the years, the firm has provided support to many non-profit organizations, including Southern Arizona Legal Aid, Tucson Medical Center Foundation, Beacon Group, Ocotillo Learning Center, and the Arizona Justice Project, among many others.

Looking forward, Snell & Wilmer remains committed to supporting its clients in Southern Arizona and beyond. Attorneys and staff in the Tucson office lead their work with the diligence, empathy, creativity and integrity that have helped establish the office as a leading service provider for many decades—and for many decades to come.
