06/24/2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that litigator Nathan Mammen has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as a partner in the intellectual property group.

“We are thrilled to welcome Nathan to our Washington, D.C. office,” said Partner Richard Kim. “His practice and experience will be a valuable addition to our local team and our intellectual property group as a whole.”

Mammen has over 16 years of experience litigating intellectual property matters.  He has successfully led teams in numerous complex, “bet-the-company” intellectual property matters in district courts across the country, the International Trade Commission, as well as international arbitrations. In addition to trial litigation, Mammen has broad appellate practice experience, appearing before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Mammen has experience and knowledge working across a variety of technologies including agricultural equipment and digital agriculture technology, medical devices, radio-frequency identification, wireless communication, semiconductors, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, and mechanical devices.

Mammen’s intellectual property experience began when he worked his way through law school as a patent examiner.  He continues to be frequently involved in proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and consults on matters before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Prior to joining the firm, Mammen was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis for over twelve years. Mammen is a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served as a military prosecutor and as appellate counsel in dozens of military criminal cases.

Mammen received his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School and his B.S. from Purdue University.
