Alex Kat is a labor and employment attorney in Snell & Wilmer’s San Diego office who focuses on helping employers navigate the ever-changing landscape of California labor and employment laws.
Alex advises clients on a wide range of employment law matters in state and federal court, which include discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, harassment, and wage and hour disputes. He works to keep his clients aware of legislative developments and changes in employment regulations that could have potential effects on business operations. Alex also conducts independent investigations into a wide array of issues by carefully reviewing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and evaluating all the facts to determine whether a workplace policy or state and federal law have been violated.
Prior to his legal career, Alex had extensive experience managing both large franchise and small family-owned restaurant chains. Alex leverages this background into providing practical applications of the law with a business-oriented vision in mind.
Alex is actively involved in giving back to the San Diego community and advancing the legal profession. He currently serves as an At-Large Director of the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association, an organization focused on promoting diversity in the legal profession through service and advocacy. He also remains actively involved in mentoring law students at the University of San Diego School of Law and supporting various student organizations.
