Biography

Caitlin Vanderkarr focuses her practice in corporate and securities law, data privacy, technology transactions (including artificial intelligence (AI)), gaming and sports betting law, strategic corporate advice, and regulatory compliance. She provides comprehensive legal counsel to corporate clients, assisting them in navigating the complexities of corporate governance, risk management, and the interrelationship between legal compliance, litigation, and operational continuity. Her responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and revising Privacy Policies, Terms of Use/Service (TOU/TOS), Software as a Service (SaaS) Agreements, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), End User License Agreements (EULAs), Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), Joint Development Agreements (JDAs), Supply Chain Agreements, and Statements of Work (SOWs)/Order Forms (OFs) for clients of varying sizes and industries.

Data Privacy and Cybersecurity

Caitlin offers data privacy experience, assisting clients with the development of data protection policies, ensuring data security, and addressing compliance concerns. She also provides strategic advice on mitigating reputational risks and compliance with regulations such as HIPAA and CCPA.

Gaming, Sports, and Entertainment

Caitlin brings a wealth of regulatory knowledge to clients in the gaming, sports betting, fantasy sports, boxing and mixed martial arts, and horseracing sectors. Her experience spans strategic legal analysis and advice, risk management, litigation strategies, and contract negotiation to support business objectives and policy decisions.  She also advises on key regulatory matters related to HISA, IGRA, and UIGEA.

Real Estate

Caitlin is familiar with residential real estate transactions, guiding clients through the entire purchase process — from negotiating the purchase agreement to closing documents.

Environmental and Healthcare

Caitlin has a firm understanding of Arizona’s environmental regulations, including matters related to Underground Storage Tanks (USTs), biohazardous medical waste, and hazardous waste, informed by her regulatory work for the State. Additionally, she has a comprehensive understanding of the health risks associated with the healthcare industry and provides counsel to address these unique challenges.
